The city of jewels – Manipura

The city of jewels – Manipura

Manipura what is it? Manipura is the sanskirt word for the Solar Plexus which is the third chakra represented by the colour yellow.  Yellow is the symbol of the mind, intellect and wisdom. It is a positive magnetic vibration that acts as a counterbalance for irritable conditions of the nervous system. In earlier post’s I have written about The root (Survival), The Sacral (Creativity/passion) and after the aspects of understanding survival and feeling passion, come’s growth and nourishment which begins right from our Solar Plexus. Located in our midsection above our navel the solar plexus is the centre of willpower, the core of our personality and our identity. While the (2nd) Sacral chakra seeks pleasure and enjoyment, the third chakra is all about the belief of who you are. The solar plexus chakra is associated with the fire element because fire provides warmth and comfort. The main function of this energy centre is to give real strength to move forward and realise personal desires and intentions in the world. This chakra spans a wide emotional area while it provides warmth and comfort it can also cause fear and terror. However, it plays a fundamental role in the development of personal power and it also feeds your direction in life and the actions you need to take to reach your goals.   The life lesson of the Solar Plexus is to develop your inner power by being honest and at peace with yourself .      A Balanced Solar Plexus A Strong third chakra reflects the ability to move forward in life with confidence and power. It reflects the ability to make conscious choices to choose and to act. The Solar Plexus chakra attributes to our diet and digestion, meaning if you have an unhealthy diet your bound to have an unbalanced Solar Plexus. A balanced Solar Plexus is very beneficial for many reason’s some of my favourite are that you will notice progress within your personal and spiritual growth and development, you will feel the need to transform into the best version of yourself, your decision-making skills improve and you will feel more independent. An unbalanced Solar Plexus on the other hand is not so nice with symptoms such as stubbornness, an overwhelming ego, poor health due to a poor diet, poor judgement, lack of confidence, Denial, fear of rejection, fears about physical appearance. In my opinion a Narcissist has an extremely closed, unbalanced Solar Plexus among other chakras. On one side, a balanced solar plexus chakra makes it easy to find balance between your personal power and harmonious relationships with others; on the other side, an imbalanced third chakra could undermine your self-esteem and social life. When your Solar Plexus becomes balanced you will show assertiveness, Exert your will in a way that leads to the expected results somewhat effortlessly and have harmonious relationships with whoever you are around. A balanced Manipura also awakens your conscious mind into learning how to relate to your whole self mentally, physically and spiritually and makes you more conscious of your personal power and how to use your personal power in a balanced way.     Balancing your Solar Plexus Meditate and take part in mindfulness activities: There are many meditations and mindfulness exercises for the solar plexus chakra, one in fact is listed below. Pranayama: Pranayama is control of Breath. “Prana” is Breath or...

This One Need Can Block Your Growth!

This One Need Can Block Your Growth!

I feel so compelled to share something with you: your need for safety holds you back from growing fully. As Souls we are always, on a subconscious level, seeking freedom. We yearn to be free. However, our need to feel safe and secure sets boundaries that are the opposite of freedom. Can one feel safe and free at the same time? Yes of course – but that combination is rare for most of us. Those two values crash and cause a lot of contradictions in emotions and behaviour. However if we can get to that point where these two values and emotions can work in harmony…Wow, what a life that is! As I have mentioned before, I have done thousands of therapy/coaching sessions working with the subconscious mind. I am so thankful for all the learning I have accumulated, and for the opportunity to share the insight with you. I am never saying that what I share is 100% truth, because that we can not know, however, what I share is from real life experiences with real people. Attracting drama The other day a profound insight came to me. I have pondered this before from an analytical point of view. A woman, let’s call her Victoria: when our session started she blurted out “every time I feel good and my life is going well, I attract major drama into my life. Drama at work, in my relationships, accidents, etc. I don’t understand why this keeps happening!” Prior to our session, Victoria mentioned that she had an intense desire to change her life: to break free from her job and pursue what she really wanted. She wanted to end her relationship, because she and her partner had grown apart, and there was no love or passion between them anymore. She wanted to start a new life, but all of these were really huge steps out of her comfort zone. She associated these changes with losing control. Even if she couldn’t stand the situation, as difficult as it was, it still gave here a sense of security, because she at least knew what she had and what to expect. She told me that all her life she had been afraid of making changes. She had never felt secure as a child and that resulted in the need to always seek security – this created a pattern in her subconscious mind, and it had stayed there and become stronger over the years. As she told me: “Every time I feel good and my life is going well, I attract major drama into my life.” Suddenly a realization came to me. (Let me say this: when I work with people I am convinced that I channel information from my higher self and it transforms into words that “pop” out of my mouth). I answered her back: “The drama is opening up the doors of possibilities and opportunities. When you experience drama you yourself create the feeling of being unsafe, and in the past it has forced you to go back to your old patterns, because that feels safer. The drama you create is there so you can change. You won´t change if everything is going well. I am not saying that we need drama to make changes, but they are a natural part of life and most people need...

Svadhisthana – Sacral Chakra

Svadhisthana – Sacral Chakra

Svadhisthana what is it? Svadhisthana is the Sanskrit word for the sacral chakra, in English it translates to the dwelling place within. The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra. It is associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity. It’s element is water and as such, its energy is characterized by flow and flexibility. In the Tantric tradition, this chakra is associated with the genitals and sexual energy. Indian teachings place a lot of emphasis on celibacy, to raise and transmute this powerful sexual energy to the brain (or, more correctly, the Upper T’ien Tan Centre), increasing higher consciousness. In practice however, a lot of times the person being pressured will rebel, because the individual is not yet ready to renounce physical sex, and may become psychologically unbalanced or full of guilt which would lead this chakra to also be unbalanced. The sacral chakra is represented by the color orange and is located about three inches below the navel, at the center of your lower belly. In the back, it’s located at the level of the lumbar vertebrae. The symbol is a lotus flower with six petals, the sense is taste and the mantra for this Chakra is VAM. The Sacral Chakra focuses on emotional depths, passion, pleasure and curiosity, This is the centre for emotion, pleasure, sensuality, intimacy, and connection.  I know some people who often refer to the second chakra as the “lover’s Chakra”. Symbolically, the Sacral Chakra is the birth canal. We are capable to birth a life we want, to start that project we’ve always wanted to do, a relationship, a friendship, anything that we can put our minds to. It is having that personal power to move forward in life and do what you have always dreamed of accomplishing. It is the sensation of being physically alive and creating the life you want. The life lesson of the Sacral Chakra is to bond with others in an emotionally healthy way and to express our creativity freely.   A balanced Sacral Chakra In order to live a passionate and deep life you must have a balanced Sacral Chakra. If you ever feel detached from society or from yourself,  or if you are sick you most likely have an unbalanced Sacral Chakra. The Sacral Chakra is the centre of creativity, everything that is possibly creative comes from the Sacral Chakra. It is also where your fertility originates. After all, conceiving a child is a creative process. A person with an open Sacral Chakra is passionate, present in their body, sensual, creative, and connected to their feelings. When the Sacral Chakra is balanced, the relationship with the world and other people is centered around nurturing, pleasure and harmonious exchange. The Sacral centre is located to the quantity of sexual energy a person has.  When it is open, a person has a lot of sexual energy and sexual power.  When blocked, sexual sensations will be weak and disappointing.  People who have problems with guilt and sin, especially in the religious sense: the body is sinful, or sex is dirty; have problems with this chakra.       Balancing your Sacral Chakra Meditate on specific energies and concepts.  By individually meditating on something specific we can help improve them. Mindfulness in a very condensed state. Find an active passion.  The Sacral Chakra is not only a...

Bring It On!

Bring It On!

The Dalai Lama once said; “your enemy is your greatest teacher.” I have personally changed a lot of unhealthy patterns in my own life using this philosophy. I believe that the Universe sends us / we attract / create “challenges” for the sake of learning and evolving.     I wanted to dive into a variety of different ways we can use this philosophy in our daily lives: As you pick the “wrong” line in the grocery – instead of getting irritated, isn´t it a good opportunity to train your patience muscle? Stuck in traffic – an opportunity to practice patience and acceptance…Or just simply observe…Breathe! When someone has a behaviour that you don´t resonate with, could that be a good time to practice non-judgement or sending that person some love? Or would practicing detachment be a better alternative? When someone says “no” to you in some shape or form; is that a brilliant opportunity to train your brain to detach from the situation and integrate the knowing that it is only a two-letter word – it says nothing about you. If you get asked by some friends to go out and party, but you don´t feel like it – instead of making up a story (lie) about why you can´t come – would this be a great opportunity to practice honesty? To be honest and sincere in your response? Maybe you have noticed how easy it is to “make up” an excuse? We think it sounds better than the truth. Or maybe we are afraid of what they will think of us if we just say “today I just don´t feel like it.”. They will think something of you either way. We cannot escape the opinions of others. Others opinion about you is not your business. Your opinion about you is your business.  Next time you are in a social setting and someone starts talking negative about other people. Instead of listening, nodding, smiling or involving yourself in this self destructive act; what if this is the perfect moment to set boundaries and tell the truth about what you really feel about talking behind other people´s back? Are you afraid of what they will think of you if you do? Don´t worry, they are already talking about you behind your back. The tendency of people who have that hobby talk about those who are not there. People need to hear the truth. Next time you blame a circumstance or a person for your negative thoughts and feelings – what would happen if you used these moments as an opportunity to connect to your higher truth; “I am the Master of my thoughts and emotions”. Connect to the warrior within and break your pattern of blaming. Jump up and down. Do push-ups. Put your hands in the air like you are celebrating victoriously and hold them there for one minute. This will definitely create an abrupt change in your vibration! Raise it! Raise your standard of living! Why tolerate anything less than what you really want? “We get what we tolerate” – Anthony Robbins Next time a person yells at you…Instead of reacting, why not observe. Observe your emotions, your breathing, your thoughts. Take conscious control of them. Let go of the need to react instantly. What if this...

The root to it all – Muladhara

The root to it all – Muladhara

Muladhara – What is it? The Root chakra. The word Muladhara breaks down into two Sanskrit words: Mula meaning “root” and Adhara, which means “support” or “base.” Other names for this chakra are Base, First, Red, Coccygeal, Coccyx Chakra. The Root chakra is the foundation of the chakra system at the base of the spine and groin area, this is the animal or base nature. It is the most physical of our chakras;  Safety, security and stability are important keywords for a healthy base chakra as without these you do not have the feeling of belonging in your physical reality and tend to live in a world of illusions and poor feelings. It is not only the color of blood that connects it to the Root Chakra but it is the vital source, keeping you alive, transporting nutrients and life force around your entire system. It is a core part of your survival and existence. The lesson of this chakra is self-preservation; we have a right to be here.     Imbalances in the root chakra If there is an imbalance in the root chakra you may experience anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physical imbalances may manifest as problems in the colon, with the bladder, or with lower back, leg, or feet issues. In men, prostate problems may occur. Eating disorders may also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance. Emotional imbalances include feelings affecting our basic survival needs: loneliness, money, shelter, food and the ability to provide. When this chakra is balanced, you feel supported, a sense of connection and safety to the physical world, and grounded. Opening and healing your root chakra Going for a walk and getting outside is one of the best methods in opening your root chakra. Especially if you’re barefoot feel the ground beneath your feet, then sit down and feel mother nature pulling on the base of your spine towards the core of the earth and think red. The root chakra is related to the color red so envisioning  a red flame glowing brightly at the base of your spine can help clear the root chakra. You can start with a meditation visualizing the red flame at the base of your tailbone and picture the light extending down to your legs and feet and grounding you to the earth. Eat Red Fruit, Vegetables and anything naturally red. As mentioned in my earlier post “wheel’s to the infinite you.” Eating naturally red food’s, which is the color of the root chakra will give your root chakra an instant boost. Wear Red Clothing. If  you wear red this will also give your root chakra a boost, this is also the same if you sleep in red bedding or in a red-painted room etc Dance. Dancing is one of the best way to open and heal your root chakra. The spontaneous movements that emerge while dancing the base chakra tend to draw inspiration from tribal dancing, as found in the indigenous cultures of Africa, Australia and North America. These tribal dances are linked to the issues of the base, including our roots, survival and grounding. Do yoga. Many yoga postures are designed to cleanse this chakra. . Repeat positive affirmations.  Repeating positive affirmations associated to the root chakra are very powerful methods in opening your root chakra. These include affirmations...

50 Inspirational Quotes for Joy & Abundance

Sharing an article from one of my mentors Jack Canfield; Every thought you think and every word you say matters. The secret to the life you always wanted – Creative visualization (Part 2)

The secret to the life you always wanted – Creative visualization (Part 2)

Power of creative visualization Creative Visualization is also known as a form of therapy also called imagery therapy.  Doctors; such as Dr Weil, found that by having patients visualize certain things in their head, many of these patients can go through accelerated healing even from deadly diseases. Creative visualization is the act of seeing in your mind’s eye, that which you want to attract in your life, whether it is a positive outcome to a difficult situation or a cure to an illness or disease you have. What ever it could be, Creative visualization can help in all these areas. Dr. Cathryne Maciolek, a D.C. area psychotherapists, uses visualization in her clinical practice.  She quotes Rosabeth Moss Kanter to illustrate the power of the technique, “A vision is not just a picture of what could be; it is an appeal to our better selves, a call to become something more.” She explains that visualization is a means of control in an uncontrollable situation. Dr. Maciolek states that “Visualization is not only used to cope with psychological diagnoses such as anxiety and depression, but it can be used in our everyday lives.”  For patients battling anxiety, Dr. Maciolek uses visualization to create “mental vacations.” This technique involves imagining a place that is calm and comforting. . 5  energy visualization tips I learnt these visualization tips from Jeffery Allen a spiritual teacher and they have made a profound impact to my life. I feel whilst on the topic of visualization, I have to share… Focus – Attention & clarity: Clear thinking and intuition requires your focus and attention. Tip: Imagine there is a magnet behind your eyes gathering all your scattered energy and attention. Feel your energy begin to concentrate behind your eyes. Give yourself one minute to collect your energy before opening your eyes and continuing your day. Inspiration & Creativity: Let your creative energy flow, being creative requires energy. Tip: Imagine streams of energy flowing above you being drawn into your head. Feel it go down through your neck, down your arms, and into your hands. After one minute, start opening and closing your hands to increase the flow of creative energy. Boundaries – Give yourself room to breathe: Whenever you are overwhelmed by your day, use this visualization to give yourself the room to breathe and maintain a strong presence energetically. Tip: Imagine a warm, glowing aura expanding from your body until it’s about arms-length on all sides. Feel the bubble of energy around you making it easier to breath and be more aware of your body. Grounding – Be powerfully present in your body: It’s funny how easily we can get scattered during the day. So many things call our attention that we can forget where we are. Reconnecting with your body and the earth is the fastest way to achieve a peaceful, powerful presence. Tip: Imagine a tree extending from your hips deep into the earth. As you root, feel yourself becoming powerfully present in your body. Hold this intention for one minute. You will feel grounded and connected to the earth and the effects will last for hours. Decisions – Visualize your future possibilities: Visualization is a powerful tool for intuition and making choices! Tip: Imagine a movie screen or stage before your eyes. Think of three possible choices you might make...

The secret to the life you always wanted – Creative visualization (Part 1)

The secret to the life you always wanted – Creative visualization (Part 1)

I have changed my life for the better using creative visualization and I believe this is one of the best tool’s to manifest anything you want. A lot of  Athletes, entrepreneurs, actors, doctors and students are all known to regularly use creative visualization… so what is the hype about and how can it benefit us?    Creative visualization, what is it? Creative visualization is a mental technique that uses the imagination to make dreams and goals come true. Creative visualization is a powerful technique. If applied correctly, the power of visualization can transform your life. It will help you in attracting to your life anything you wish. Creative visualization uses the power of the mind, and is the power behind every success. By visualizing vivid scenarios you can carry out, you condition your subconscious mind to act upon it. This is because the subconscious mind is unable to tell the difference between a real experience and something that is just imagined, as scientific research suggests. Mastering creative visualization gives you control over your thoughts at the subconscious level. While there are several ways to programme the subconscious mind, visualization is the most effective and its results the most rapid.     What the mind believes the mind achieves, What you visualize, you can carry out, What you think, you become, What you concentrate your attention on, you can attract.   How to visualize? Set yourself a meaningful goal, something that is going to serve you positively, not a goal that is going to feed into low dimensional emotions like the ego. Once you have a clear idea of your goal set the mood. It’s vital that you are in a relaxed and positive state of mind when you attempt creative visualization. Once you’re feeling relaxed enter a meditative state, use any regular meditation deepening or count down tool to reach a deep level of mind.  For most people, all that you need is a few minutes spent focusing on slow, steady breathing. Once your mind feels quiet and still, start creating an image of the thing you want, taking as much time as you need to build up all the details.  Try to make the environment as realistic as possible, and do your best to include all five senses, experience not just the sights but also the sounds, scents and every different sort of  sensation associated with your goal. When you express gratitude, you feel all the amazing positive feelings associated with what your grateful for. Do the same when you visualize, hold onto all the positive higher frequency feelings associated with the goal that you are visualizing about. Try to hold onto these feelings and repeatedly affirm your belief that you will soon attract the things you yearn for. Finish with a blessing, ask the universe to let what you have daydreamed manifest in your life.  Then thank the universe for having your back and supporting all your hopes and dreams. Then feel the gratitude in your core, feel all the emotions connected to you living your dreams! Creative visualization takes dedication and regular practice to manifest results. This is the issue many people struggle with. They visualize for two or three weeks, and start to become skeptics when they have not become rich or got that certain car they have visualized about for the last few weeks. Stay calm,...
